So what we did was create some future genealogy and to do this, we chosen a topic and instead of tracing the emergence, we predicted what the emergence would be. So working in a small group of 5, we've decided to pick the topic:
"Talking is Unhygienic"
We've decided to go with this because it made us think of what emerges they'll be in the future. So we sketched out this mind-map that's below to show you all our thoughts. If this was to occur, the main change is that talking would completely stop and the new way of communication is to hold up signs. Face masks would become a trend which would mean it becomes hard to afford. Miming would become a style again to also communicate and express using our body. The negatives would be that there's less individuality because our voices will be covered. It will also lead to depression because it'll be harder for people to express their feelings.
Here's a little sketch from this group task which illustrates this future genealogy. We've got this overweight man holding a sign which says 'keep your mouth shut when you speak!!' to show what the world would be like. We've included this music chart in the back which is actually a humming chart to show that the music industry would change and they'll be no vocals in music. The 'mental' in his brain also just expresses some emotions towards how hard life would get if we were stopped from talking.
As much as I felt this task was really random, I did enjoy the concept of this future genealogy because we got to think of how a topic could change the world as it is today.
